Letter from the Sellers
We are delighted to welcome you into our home. From the moment we saw it for the first time, we knew it would be the perfect place for us – seeing my six-year-old daughter jumping up and down when she saw it confirmed that this would be our dream house. And it was. But the kids grew up and the house is ready for the next loving family. We cared for this house fondly aiming to preserve its stately colonial character, and it rewarded us with years of comfort, warmth, and peace. We transformed the back patio in into a lush garden that attracted butterflies and bumblebees – and little girls making S’mores in the fire pit. Many an epic slumber party took place in the spacious basement and many neighbors and family gathered in our living room for New Year’s Eve parties.
In the past seven years we enjoyed the easy access to Downtown Silver Spring, Takoma Park, and Washington DC. We didn’t realize how convenient it was to be inside the beltway. We love the proximity to Metro to Silver Spring and Takoma, which will be within walking distance once the Purple Line opens in three years.
Beautiful Sligo Creek is nearby with its pleasant trails and parks. Many times we lost ourselves in long bike rides exploring the changing character of the creek. Our weekly visits to the Farmers Markets in Silver Spring and Takoma Park brought fresh, organic produce for the kitchen and beautiful plants for the garden. We took advantage of the many activities in the area: movies, free concerts, and festivals in Downtown Silver Spring, and the quirky Takoma Park 4thof July Parade. Local micro breweries like Denizens continue to thrive and AstroLab is opening in a few weeks. The American Film Institute theater and The Fillmore music hall are cultural assets of the community. And then there is a plethora of fine dining options, with more opening seemingly every month.
Our neighborhood is a great community of young families, couples, and empty nesters. We made great friends among our neighbors and no doubt they will welcome you warmly like they did to us. We hope you enjoy our house as much as we have. Welcome home!
