Our search to find a larger house began when we decided that our townhouse just wasn’t large enough anymore. We looked at countless houses and kept coming back to this one on Norwood Place West. There was something about the charm of the community and the picturesque view of Sugarloaf Mountain out the front windows of the house that continued to draw us in. The sunset over the mountain and rolling hills is absolutely beautiful and one that will certainly be missed. There is nothing like coming home after a long day at work and having such incredible views to enjoy.
The floor plan is great for entertaining and let me tell you—we did a lot of it! Countless family gatherings, holiday gatherings, surprise parties—you name it, this house can accommodate. The family room and kitchen area allow people to socialize from different rooms in an effective way. The backyard is fabulous for games and became the playing ground for many kickball and badminton competitions!
Beyond the wonderful views, fabulous floor plan and a great yard is a neighborhood that one dreams of living in and calling home. From the very beginning, the neighbors were super friendly and welcoming. Countless people stopped by to simply say hi, drop off “welcome to the neighborhood” gifts and provide helpful advice and tips within the first week of us living here. If you step out in the evening you will almost always be greeted by the sound of children giggling and playing. Many of our friends have come over and commented on the fact that there are always people out walking, riding bikes, exercising or just enjoying their yards. There is a wide variety of activities always going on such as neighborhood sports games, card or board game nights or gatherings to simply chill out and socialize.
Although nestled in the countryside you are still close to many things. A 15-minute drive to cute shops in Lucketts, Virginia or beautiful wineries settled in the hills of Loudoun County, Virginia. Countless hiking trails are within a 10 to 15-minute drive. The C & O canal is super close and a great place to ride bikes or run. Downtown Frederick is 12 minutes away and has so many charming restaurants and shops to enjoy. There are also countless stores within 10 minutes in Frederick or 20 minutes away in Leesburg.
This truly is a good place to call home. The neighbors are kind and welcoming and the house has a way of making you feel like you have lived here for years. Green Hill Manor is a wonderful neighborhood and will undoubtedly provide you with a great place to live!
