Letter from the Seller
I’ve loved this house, centrally located to everything. I’ve appreciated the short walk to two Redline metro stations, exploring the charm of historic Kensington’s Saturday morning farmers market and the exhilaration after a workout at the yoga studio. Weekend bike rides spent in Sligo and Rock Creek park filled Saturdays with nature’s wonders. I’ve enjoyed watching children sledding down hills in neighboorhood parks and the influx of diverse families participating in the active neighboorhood watch program and community listserv.
The back of the house faces east, and the front of the house faces west. Every day even if it’s cloudy light floods and fills the space with brightness. The rounded floor-to-ceiling windows make the open airy space feel much bigger than it is. Sweeping views out of the back window are as beautiful as a painting with nothing but green space as far as the eye can see. The house is situated at the top of the neighborhood magnificently highlighting many original mature trees and canopies that provide a wonderful habitat for the variety of cheerfully chirping birds who call the trees their home.
I have grown to really love and appreciate this house, my neighbors, and the neighborhood. I love the hardwood floors, I love the amount of space this comfortable roomy home provides. I love the guest room and bathroom in the basement, memories in the making for all of the guests I’ve hosted comfortably here. I love the little outdoor front porch that I had built when the sun shines in the afternoon. The lush gardens of peonies, rose bushes, and hydrangeas. The festive fireplace mantle at Christmas time, and the built-in bookcases holding beloved literary treasures. The beautiful kitchen with special touches such as drawers that close by themselves.
Truly, this house is a true gem in a true gem of a neighborhood that I know will inspire a “love list” from whoever lives here next.
